In 1970, he received a four year football scholarship to attend Grambling State University. He was elected to the Pittsburgh Courier All American Football Team in his Senior Year and also the Team Captain. His dream upon graduation was to become a pro football player. His hard work and diligence paid off and in 1970, he was drafted by the NFL joining forces with the Buffalo Bills.

His ability to connect with people and his unrelenting pursuit of justice and equity will forever be etched in the annals of New Orleans' history.
In addition to his athletic abilities and successful career , he and his siblings were proud owners of the Alexander's Brass Bull in the Gentilly area of the city. This social venue provided the ambiance of good entertainment, good music, good food, dancing, and the gathering of friends, co-workers.
All of his accomplishments in life could not have been possible without the ongoing relationship he had with God. Attorney Alexander gave his life to Christ in 1960 at the Israel Baptist Church of New Orleans. Later, he joined Bibleway Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Frank Davis where he served as an Associate Minister, Minister of the Sick and Shut-in, and the Street Evangelism Ministry. In 1999, the Holy Spirit led him to Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church, under the leadership of Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr. Glynn was a faithful servant in the Three-Way Intercessory Prayer Ministry, the Announcer's Guild, and the Men of Vision.
