Hey guys and gals,
I remember a while ago when Dr. Judson was president of our University, he said he wanted to reclaim the history of the University. Well, most of that history went to the wayside, and it's moreso our -- Gramblinites -- fault.
When we don't talk about history, it disappears. If we don't write about it, it disappears. Too many times, great things have occurred at Grambling that was not talked about or written about, and that's a huge problem.
With that said, I wanted to start a thread for people to post their fondest memories they have while attending Grambling. Maybe, older alumni can drop a piece of nugget or two about the history of the school. There should be something you know that us younger alumni don't know, and some of us younger alumni can share some things that meant a lot to us.
The whole purpose of this thread is to bring back a sense of history to our beloved school, whether you are in Alaska or Louisiana, whether you went to Grambling for one semester or 10 semesters. It doesn't matter. Everyone has a story or memory to share, and that's what I want to happen here.
Just post whatever makes you so proud of your alma mater, and let it flow. Let's keep it civil and friendly as well.
Thanks everyone, Darryl D. Smith Class of '07 and '09

When there was no such thing as a "real" Gramblinite and EVERY Gramblinite's opinion was listened to with an open mind.

Thanks for your comment DSN. I guess we lost sight of "The Place Where Everybody Is Somebody."

I get choked up every time I sing this song...
GOD Bless Dear Old Grambling. It's The University That I Love. Stand beside Her, and Guide Her Through the night with your precious Guiding Light from above.

Stayed up late just to finally get this edited and share with you tb34g_s_u. Download: Dr. Ellen Smiley - God Bless Dear Ole Grambling (Live)Quality isn't the best, but it's good enough to get those goosebumps. Could only get it in .WAV format since every time I export it as an MP3, there's static. If only that Blackberry could've gotten the applause afterwards ... it was a long ovation!
