GSU's Williams: Contract will be worked out soon Doug Williams is relatively confident he won't have to enter spring practice without a contract in place. The Grambling football coach didn't realize his deal hadn't been handled prior to the 2011 season, but he's hoping he and the university can straighten matters out soon. "I'm sure it is (going to get worked out)," he said. "Maybe in another week or so." Williams signed a deal last spring when the university hired him to begin his second stint as the Tigers' coach. The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors never approved that contract, though, and another was never put into place. "There was a contract for Doug Williams on the April 2011 University of System Board agenda, but it was pulled primarily because of the source of funding to support the incentives," system president Randy Moffett said in a statement. "The university has revised the contract and has given it to coach Williams for his signature so that it can be submitted for Board approval at the April 2012 meeting. www.thenewsstar.com/article/20120318/SPORTS/203180332/GSU-s-Williams-Contract-will-worked-out-soon
