Albany Wilbert "Bonnie" Jones A retired teacher and coach, he died at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 84, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of New Orleans. He taught and coached at Chaneyville High School for 30 years and was a Navy veteran. Visiting at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 1743 Convention St., on Wednesday, Aug. 10, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Charlie Green. Interment in Southern Memorial Gardens. Survived by his wife, Leonetta M. Jones; daughters, Janice J. May, Silver Spring, Mo., and Joann Robiskie, LaPlace; son, Nelson Jones, LaPlace; and four grandchildren, Maia L. Jones, Kyra M. Jones, Kanika M. Lewis and Erika L. May. Preceded in death by his mother, Lydia Zenon; and father, Wilbert Jones. He graduated with the class of 1950 at Grambling State University. Arrangements by New Southside Funeral Home.
