Tell people how you have given back to GSU. I know a lot of people put emphasis on finances, but I believe that other things can go further than finances.
In the past, I've donated photos to the World Famed Tiger Marching Band. Those photos were put together in a presentation and presented to a committee. The committee loved the photos. The result? The World Famed Tiger Marching Band was invited to the Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama.
It's not the only time I've helped Grambling. Ryan McGinty can tell you that when he was the SID, I consistently sent him photos of players in action for the press releases and potential website use. I've also donated SWAC volleyball tournament photos to Kim Young -- former volleyball coach.
However, some of my donations have failed to even be accepted. I once told Dr. Judson that I had a photo of a rainbow over the library. Despite our troubles, he said that he would love to have the photo for the promotion of Grambling. I never once saw the photo used sadly.
But these are some ways I've donated to the university -- so you get an idea of what I'm going for in this thread. Tell us...what have you done for Grambling lately?
PS: Just wearing gear doesn't count. Anyone can do that.

Other than financially. I help Grambling recruit students and i do it on my own. I arrange for the band continually. Though i created a homemade type video showcasing the band and pics provided to me by Mr Ed Crane, those videos recruited students. I posted the videos on youtube, myspace and facebook, bandhead.org, the5thquarter.com etc and people emailed me for further information to Grambling State especially to be in the band. They got set up for auditions, made them, received their scholarships and will report to Grambling on August 1, 2011 so financially isn't the only way a person can give back.

Beside giving what I can, I'm selling young people on Grambling in the small town of Edgewood, Tx about Grambling. Whenever, my family comes for football(season ticket holder) and basketball games I try to bring other young people(black and white) with us. Last year I brought a young man (Oliver) from Tyler, Tx last year and and now he talks GSU. Also I took this white kid (Justin) last year who is in the same grade as my fifteen year old son and he loved it. Had to stop the kid from spending all his money on Grambling gear. He wears the Grambling hat and tee shirts with PRIDE. Almost forgot that Justin parents have heard so much about GSU that they want to attend a football game this year and I'm going to bring them down to Homecoming.

By speaking to various classes and promoting the need for qualified instructors. I also promote the administration to hire more instructors so that these professors can less classes and conduct more research to enhance the academic programs at GSU.
