For Immediate Release: August 12, 2010 Grambling State Alumna Alicia Reece Runs to Keep Cincinnati House Seat
Rep. Alicia Reece, GSU AlumnaGRAMBLING, LA --- Grambling State University alumna, Rep. Alicia Reece, is running in the November election to secure her seat in the Ohio House of Representatives. In February, Rep. Reece (D-Cincinnati) was selected by the Ohio House Democrats to fill former Rep. Tyrone Yates’ 33rd District seat.
Rep. Reece, who represents about 110,000 residents on Cincinnati’s East Side and Inner Suburbs, served as vice mayor of Cincinnati from 2002-2006 and was a City Councilwoman for the eight years prior. At the age of 28, she was the youngest woman ever elected to the Cincinnati City Council.
The representative is a founding member of the National Urban League of Young Professionals and a former board member of the Cincinnati United Way, Cincinnati Health Collaborative, Greater Cincinnati Health Foundation, National League of Cities and Greater Cincinnati Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.
At Grambling State, Rep. Reece participated in voter registration campaigns and served as the captain of the women’s basketball team. She received a bachelor’s degree in mass communication with a concentration in public relations and a minor in Spanish.

I remember meeting Alicia Reece during the 2004 Homecoming. She was a very laid back person. Good luck to her!

I met Reese and her dad when she visited Grambling out of high school......She said that she selected Grambling over an offer from Princeton and some of y'all don't think that it happens.......Some kids love their HBCU experience........I know that I did.
