GRAMBLING UNIVERSITY NATIONAL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION, INC. (GUNAA) 2010 Election Guidelines
National Elected Officers Positions
President
Vice-President
Secretary
Treasurer
Financial Secretary
Business Manager
All individuals interested in running for a National Office must adhere to the following guidelines and deadlines.
1. Constitution - Article VII, Section IIIC - Election of Officers requires that all persons seeking a position as an officer must be a paid registrant at that year's election convention as well as hold membership in an active chartered local chapter for that year.
2. Constitution - Article VII, Section IIIA3 – Officers – states that only one person from each local chapter may qualify to run for a national office. If more than one person qualifies, then all nominations must be sent back to the local chapter for a decision to be made as to which member will seek a national office. If the local chapter does not reach a decision by the closing of qualifying for national then all nominations from that affected local chapter shall be disqualified.
3. Constitution - Article VII, Section IIIA - Election of Officers – requires that a person interested in running for an office must submit a letter of intent thirty (30) days prior to the election.
If the Election Ballots will be mailed back to the CPA by June 15, 2010, all letters of intent and election fees must be postmarked by April 1, 2010, and mailed to:

(No Exceptions. No hand delivered letters. No cash given to anyone will be accepted.)
4. Constitution - Article VII, Section IIIB - Election of Officers – requires that voting shall be certified as to eligibility by the GUNAA office.
Article VII, Section IIIB also requires that the ballot shall be prepared by the Nominating Committee.
5. In an effort to defray the cost of the election, each candidate’s fee must be paid by April 1, 2010. (Certified/Cashier Check or Money Orders)
The Fee Schedule
a.President - $300.00
b.Vice-President - $250.00
c.Secretary - $200.00
d.Treasurer - $200.00
e.Financial Secretary - $200.00
f.Business Manager - $200.00
1. Letters of acknowledgement will be mailed by April 15, 2010.
2. Membership will be notified of all eligible candidates by May 30, 2010.
3. Constitution - Article VII, Section IIIB - Election of Officers requires that the election shall be conducted via mail by a Certified Public Accountant chosen by the Board of Directors. Ballots will be mailed to the membership by May 30, 2010
4. Constitution - Article VII, Section IIIB - Election of Officers requires that the ballot shall be forwarded to the chosen Certified Public Accountant. Ballots must be postmarked by June 15, 2010, to the Certified Public Accountant selected by the GUNAA Board).
5. Winners will be announced at the annual convention.
6. Constitution - Article VII, Section IIID - Election of Officers states that if no one qualifies for a national office, the executive committee shall appoint by a majority vote to fill that position.
Note: Each candidate will be given a copy of the current membership list upon request, for a fee of $25.00.
