Office of the President
March 4, 2010
Dear Grambling State University Family:
I am writing to thank you for all of the hard work and dedication demonstrated towards ensuring that the events associated with the Grand Opening of the Eddie G. Robinson Museum were successful. To all of those who participated in the events, assisted in planning for the events, prepared appropriate facilities, and who otherwise provided support for the events, the University is grateful for all of your individual and collective efforts.
It is our goal to use the presence of the museum and Coach Robinson’s memory in many ways, including to: (1) recommit ourselves to the true meaning of our motto that Grambling State University is a place “Where Everybody is Somebody”; (2) build on the academic strengths of the University; (3) connect the University with citizens throughout Louisiana and the world; (4) increase our enrollment by enhancing our connections with K-12, parents and community colleges, and parents; (5) enhance our marketing and public relations efforts and maximize our local and national media coverage; (6) reach larger numbers of friends and donors to secure financial support for students; (7) bring our alumni and other constituents together and enhance relationships with the City of Grambling and other communities in the region, state and nation; and (8) rekindle the pride that is Grambling State University.
As we all know, it is virtually impossible to separate Coach Eddie Robinson from Grambling State University because his successes were achieved at this University. Towards that end, while the Robinson Museum holds his memorabilia, in so many ways, the entire University and the City of Grambling are the Eddie G. Robinson Museum.
Again, I say thank you to everyone who was involved in making the Grand Opening of the Eddie G. Robinson Museum a true success.
Sincerely,
Frank G. Pogue, Ph.D.
Interim President
