Grambling teen dead Wreck kills GHS student Chris Butler, Reporter 06-29-2009 A traffic accident took the life of a 17-year-old Grambling High School student early Sunday morning. Jallisa Cooper, 17, was driving east on U.S. Highway 80 at La. 818 around 2 a.m. Sunday when she lost control of her car and exited the right side of the road way. After exiting the right side, her car re-entered the roadway and exited the left before it hit a culvert, Scott Moreau, spokesman for the Louisiana State Police, said in a statement. State troopers responded to the scene. They said Cooper wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was ejected from her car. She was pronounced dead, Moreau said. Routine toxicology tests are pending, and state troopers are still investigating the crash, Moreau sad. Queen Lawhorne, secretary at Grambling High, said Cooper was a cheerleader and a good student with a sweet personality who would have started her senior year in August. “She was very smart. I am shocked to hear of her death. Even though school is out for the summer, most of the students are shocked too. Our principal is very hurt by this, because he knew her well,” Lawhorne said. rustonleader.com/news.php?id=5451
